I've got a bird who gets unhappy with me every time I go out my front door and into the car. She must have a nest somewhere nearby. And I can't figure out what kind of bird it is, so I've been photographing it...with about the same luck you are having here (flying away). Do you have an Audabon book? I ask because the wings are sort of distinctive and a book might identify it for you. It almost looks like it is carrying nesting material between the legs. Have you tried putting your camera on "continuous" or "burst" mode? One press of the shutter will cause it to click and click as long as you hold your finger down (or that's what happens with my camera)... and now you can pan the camera and perhaps get more exposures. (I should take my own advice). Good Luck!

i'm not so sure my camera has that feature. ill look into it, and ill get back to you if i find out what kind of bird it is.

apparently it's a wood stork....or something very similiar
