While on a tour of the Rhine we stopped in this little town by the river. The plaques at the left of the photo have the names of the citizens of the town that served in the German Army and died in WW2.

What a pleasing image you have posted for us from old Germany.
and yes, you can find rememberance plaques from ww 2 all over Germany. But i have found that they deal with that past history in a very good manor as well. Respectfull to their lost family members, but also reflecting and certanly not hiding their war atrocities. For example, in Berchtesgaden i found above such a rememberance plaque the text : Their sacrifice, is our warning. Thanks for this posting.
