This Sentry was positioned close to the entry of the Waterloo Barracks / Jewel House. I was going to try to make him smile but taking a second look at what was strapped to his shoulder I changed my mind ... :) At the end of the day his feet must KILL him .... The time that I was looking at him he didn't even blink !! Hope you enjoy and thanks for your comments and thoughts.....

They are really dedicated to stand there and show no emotion. You legs would probably turn to Jelly if you stood there that long. :) Excellent shot.

If you've ever wondered about the initials ER, found in many places in Great Britain, particularly in connection with royalty, as on this sentry box, they are from the initials of a former king, King Edward I. Edward I (June 17, 1239 – 7 July 1307), is also known as Edward Longshanks, King of England from 1272 to 1307. He was the nasty dude who threw his son's lover from a tower window and had William Wallace put to death in Mel Gibson's "Braveheart." ER is the initial form of his latin name, Eduardus Rex. This dude here is taking his duty very serious, isn't he?
