This post is for Laura's (Cherry79) Husband .. :) .. IT seems that he has visited the castle and he favorite memory is the Wine Tuns ..:) ---The following is a quote from Mark Twain--- Everybody has heard of the great Heidelberg Tun, and most people have seen it, no doubt. It is a wine-cask as big as a cottage, and some traditions say it holds eighteen thousand bottles, and other traditions say it holds eighteen hundred million barrels. I think it likely that one of these statements is a mistake, and the other is a lie. However, the mere matter of capacity is a thing of no sort of consequence, since the cask is empty, and indeed has always been empty, history says. An empty cask the size of a cathedral could excite but little emotion in me. – Mark Twain, A Tramp Abroad, 1880 ---As far as the center photo--- that is Perkeo.. he was the court dwarf in the 18th century. He was known his love of wine ... he was also known to say "Why not?" or "perché no?" when asked if he wanted a glass of wine..:) When he was in his 80's his doctors told him that he had to stop drinking wine so much. Reluctantly he agreed ... He died the next day....

A very well done collage, Jelly. Three great images for the price of one.

I like the way you presented this to us. And I especially like the explanation. Mark Twain..he always was such an outspoken man, but I love how he writes with such strength! What a sad ending for Perkeo. Thank you for posting something so very interesting. Verena

It is a good collage Jelly. I like how they look like instamatic photos. I like your story as well. It is true there are a lot more old drunks then there are old doctors. :)

He finally was awake and you should have seen his face! Broke out in this HUGE grin saying something along the lines of "Now THAT'S a KEG!" Ya sure made that man happy. :-)
