This is the part of Venice I found the most interesting... the tiny streets and alleyways where people live and that tourists tend to ignore. Having only one day in Venice, I didn't have much time to explore, but I liked the character of this shot. I think it shows this aspect of Venice very well. Apparently, no one lives in the bottom floors of their buildings; they use them for storage only, because during high tides, the bottom floors are always flooded. I believe the tide was fairly low here. Thanks to all who view and comment.

The colors are just so warm and lovely in these shots of Venice, like the turquoise/gray water and the rust of the building. Fabulous photos of this amazing city, Donna.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

You have captured the details for the weather worn buildings so nicely. Sometimes it's more fun to be away the crowds and have a more relaxing self tour. You did get on this one I think.
