Taken from the top of the Great Tower of San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy. This small, medieval town is one of the cutest I've seen in all of Tuscany. The tower itself was built in 1311, so the rest of the town is probably as old or older. This region also produces some wonderful wines and is especially known for its Versaccio variety. I hope you all enjoy this photo because I can't tell you what I had to do to overcome my almost paralyzing fear of heights to get it. Thanks to all who view and comment.

What a view! It must have taken your breath away when you got up there and gazed down on this sight! You seem to be drawn to wine country! lol I love the rooftops and the distant view that goes on for what seems a very long way. Beautiful day it was too! Beautiful shot and soon to be wonderful memory.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I feel with you, since I have the same fears and I do not know, if I would have been that brave as you were. Great image, that gives a very nice impression of that fantastic old town.

Donna, very beautiful photo. The rolling hills, sky and buildings have wonderful colors. Thanks for overcoming the fear to give us this shot. I'd think twice about something built in 1311 myself. Terry
