I'm still on Bright Angel Trail, nearing the base of Coconino, shortly after leaving the high house. The grade is a shallow 12% along the switchbacks, but will soon change because the last 250 meters of altitude will come in the next 2km, with grades as high as 16%.

Above me is the ledge immediately below the Grand Canyon Lodge, and a refreshing shower and hardy meal.

This is another element in my digital conversion project. Scan from a photograph taken July 8, 1980, with my trusty old semi-retired Canon FTB.

Don, think it was another difficult job to obtain again such a perfect result of an old (1980) analog image. Can only say: 'Very well done again.'
Thanks for another interesting narrative as well.

Very nice shot. It captures the desert heat very well. I visited the grand canyon once, but as luck would have it dropped and shattered my only camera at a rest stop on the way :(
thanks for sharing.
