Welcome to downtown Gdansk, Poland. Also known by its German occupation name, Danzig. Thanks to my weak Russian and a very patient cab driver, the wife and I came to love this beautiful old world city. Russian with a Texas drawl is not a beautiful thing.

We had one of the most enjoyable "home-style" meals ever. To bad we only had a day to visit Gdansk and Gdynia. The area has a very rich history.

I never thought about visiting, Poland, land of my direct ancestors, but this image and others I've seen are tempting me. The architecture is wonderful and quite reminds me of Dutch buildings with no spaces between and four stories all. Beautiful shot. I'm so glad you posted this.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Man, you could spend a week in just that square alone taking pictures of the different aspects of it. The lamp post to the figures on the white building's roof. Good photo thanks for sharing... D
