The most striking feature of the International Monument at the Dachau Memorial Site is the sculpture by Nandor Glid.

The concrete fence posts supporting the sculpture on the left and right are parts of the sculpture representing the type of fence posts actually used in the camp for the barbed wire fence.

A plaque on the memorial wall reads: “Never Again” in seven different Languages.

This is another image in my digital conversion project.

Don, this sculpture at the Dachau Concentration Camp (one of the many concentratio camps during the Nazi-regime) remembers us to a terrible episode in our history. Referring what happened since then (Cambodia, and so on) really wish that 'Never Again' had become true.
Thanks for this great (and very impressive) image!
Regards, Cornelius

Very poignant post today, Don. You have provided quite a thought provoker. This is not a picture which requires our eyes to digest its photographic merits but rather our hearts to discern the possibility of more of the same or never again! Thanks for the nudge to see the world before our eyes. Well done!

here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)e e cummings If you have some extra time, please visit my gallery

Thanks for sharing this one Don. I had never seen it before. The words Never Again should ring deep and true to all.

"You become what you behold". It is always wise to remember the evil that men do, but I prefer not to dwell on it. I prefer to look beyond the statue to the wonderfully sunlit clouds and beautiful sky as a symbol that men are capable of much good if they only seek the truth(goodness) and once finding it, attach themselves to it. You did a good job of transferring the image, Don.

Since I was born in Germany and all my relatives are from there too, I really can't comment. It's a painful thought. My grandfather died due to being in a concentration camp. He was a most lovely man, I only got to know him and be with him for one year...thanx for the photo..verena

I do agree: Never again! I think it is not for the desktops, but for all the people in the world to never forget those millions who were killed by the evil. My respect for sharing it.
