Gunnera Manicata is native of the Serra do Mar mountains of southeastern Brazil and the Colombian Andes that bears the largest leaf buds of any plant, up to 60 cm (2 ft) long and 40 cm (16 inches) thick. The succulent leaf stalks are up to 2.7 m (8 ft 10 inches) long. The massive inflorescence of small, reddish flowers is up to 2.3 m (7 ft 6 inches) long and weighs about 13 kg. reminds me of a Monsteria Plant I used to one own..the darned thing would take over every available space there was no matter where I put it...and I loved it!

We have heaps of these in our Botanic Gardens as well - they always remind me of giant rhubarb!

These always remind me of giant rhubarb plants! These can also be found in Sir Winston Churchills garden at Chartwell in Kent. They are a very impressive sight when you stand near them! You have caught this very well showing those stems and colours too. Well done!
