The view of Fountains Abby and the infirmary from the east. England's largest abbey. Note the infirmary is actually built over the River Skell. The floor was slotted to allow the blood of surgery too be carried away by the river.

Now I see some tourists. What an impressive building it is, so it must have really been awesome when it was all there. I don't like surgery under anesthesia. I can't imagine having it under those circumstances. Yikes! It seems like the Abbey was a little town unto itself. A really good view you have provided here, Don.
