The Seattle Skyline - I played with this one for a while. It was originally a rather boring picture I thought so I added B&W but that still wasn't enough. So I played around and found I liked the "gritty" look that I think I achieved here. Comments/critiques welcome!

The thought here is that with some adjustments/playing around with the settings mentioned in the tutorial linked to above.. might be fun, for one.
And more so, two ... bring out a lil' more detail in the shadowed ares.
Your base image is strong on the notes of composition.
Caveats?
Not sure that the following will make sense or no, however.. forging ahead ...
Smaller resolution looks better to my eyes.
Larger, there is some noticeable contrast changes with respect to the building's/structure's outside edges ('fringing', for lack of a better descriptor).. so, did you apply any additional sharpening?
Or, possibly..
Depending on the adjustments/post processing performed, change the Blending Mode to that of Luminosity to preserve photographic data (look at the histogram in your image editor.. if it starts to look like the teeth of a comb, you are losing data, simply put).
That said..
Interesting results, and I mean this in a good good way. :o)
