This image is a collaboration between myself and a very dear friend Jacqueline (J_272004). The swamp tree was made by me with Apophysis 2.04 . All other post work was done by Lady J. I'd like to thank her for turning a plain ol' apop. into a work of art.Thanks hon for all your time and effort. Marvelous job...comments are always welcome ..

From the thumbnail, I thought 'Crystal Entity' from the Star Trek NG series. But when expanded to full view, I think the folks at Paramount should take some lessons from you guys. Excellent collaboration. Too many things to describe that I like about this. Let's just label it 'Perfect'. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work by all involved. From the preview, I expected the tree to be at the level of the water surface, but it actually looks as though it is floating mid-air with its roots exposed before entering the water. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet, but I'm tentatively inclined to say I like it. It adds to the sense of other/dream/magical/mysterious/unexplained that this image already has.
And I knew this one was a tree (to me!) before reading the description!
