Like alien coral - "bubble coral" the first settlers dubbed it unofficially and the name stuck.

Wonderful colours. I like the sense of the unseen in this - mysterious pockets harbouring alien secrets, the coral's secret life. Beautiful coral-like growths - hence the adoption of a name for another species on another world.

The background bothers me a little. It looks more like grain than stars. I guess I'd also like to see a _slight_ zoom here to give the flame just a little more space - but not too much as it needs the backdrop to set it off to its full advantage. Not sure what would look better in the background, mind. If it looked more like mist or stars, though, I think that would be perfect. It doesn't have to look quite like that, of course, but if it suggested one of those interpretations - or an alternative one - I think I might personally prefer the overall effect.

It is still very good as it stands, though. Great job!

Oh wow WOW, this is great Bill, you do know i have difficulty to answer and reply to renderings, since i have no clue how to make them, and what amount of effort is involved, so i stick to answers like: i love it... and worse replies than this. But Margali has a point in her reply above, she is right, it can be expressed as a alien coral. and your title cosmic cocoon is great as well, it totaly covers the work.
Great show, and high marks if i come across it in the votinig boot.
