I was just kind of awe struck by the obvious power, yet peaceful demeanor of the rhinos at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch near New Braunfels, Texas.

Yes one would agree about the majestic and docile appearance.Well captured shot, with good clarity and balance:1024 x 768 would have been a better size.Keep sharing.......Jim

Douglass, I like your framing on this picture. I'm not sure what the white haze is in the lower left corner. I might have tried to work that out. Jas

Nice closeup. The sharpness gives a sense of the coarseness of the rhino's hide. Unfortunate that the full horn was not in the shot. I would also have preferred more pixels. Thanks for sharing the image of an animal we don't often get very close to.

Nice work, there's plenty of detail in this close up. I would probably agree that shifting the image to the left a little to include the whole of the horn would improve the image slightly, but still it's an impressive shot.

Cheers.............

Here's the story about the rhino's horn...
At the wildlife ranch where the shot was taken, the rhinos are in a pin surrounded by a tubular fence. I don't always follow rules, but under the circumstances, staying in the car (rule # 1 at the ranch) seemed to be a good idea. Limited by my own position in the car, the position of the rhinos in their pin and the fence, I tried to keep as much of the fence out of the picture as I could. Subsequently, I didn't get the entire horn. I may actually get out of the car next time I go.
Cheers, all!
