She used to dive at me and pull my hair whenever I got within twenty feet of the nesting box. Now she lets me pull the top off and stick the camera right down in with her. I was surprised to find her home I was just hoping for some shots of the eggs in this beautiful nest she's completely lined with feathers, both her own and some she's found.

My mother has been putting the dryer lint out for the birds for years .. I used to scoff at her .. then one day I was trimming her trees and cut a branch with an old abandoned nest in it .. sure, enough, it was made with dryer lint, twigs and grass

Kilie, what a stunning shot. The compostion is wonderful. The whole image "feels" 3D to me. I love the contrast of the bird's glistening black head against the soft pale feathers. A great shot if I've ever seen one. anne

Amazing shot, I photographed some swallows recently in Corfu in a restaraunt we were eating in 5 little heads peaking out, but nothing so clear as yours it is lovely.

Outstanding capture Kilie ! What a sweet lil bird. She's made a nice nest - excellent details of all the white feathers to make things soft for her babes.
