In the past 3 weeks I have seen these type of signs about 6 times and this time I thought I would capture the image. Taken with my Canon S2 IS at 8:45 PM using a tripod and shutter speed of 1 sec. I Hope that you like it and don't come across any of these signs.

Don - there's really not much definition to work with here. perhaps it would have worked better with a flash coupled with the longer exposure to bring out the details and reduce the colour noise.

Don I don't know how you could stand to be out there that long setting up the tripod and all. Your a brave soul my friend. I have not seen this around here but i do know that parts of the interstate were closed last week. <> sandi

We had similar signs up on our interstate highways last wekend Don! I-90 & I-29 were both closed for awhile! I feel your pain buddy!!

I think you did a great job with the clarity under such low light conditions and I'm not sure how large a flash you'd have to have to give this too much more light..glad you captured it.

you can fire a flash on multiple occasions during a long exposure to freeze and open up/enhance detail.
