The photography books say bad weather can make for good photographs. I certainly had opportunity on this dark Florida day as we waited for sunnier skies.

It seems like nobody wants to go out on days like this everyone wants the blue skies
I think this makes for a much better photo.
The palm trees shadowed against the gray sky is very effective.
This is great work well done.
Saved and faved,

I shoot what I likes and I likes what I shoot.

Nice shot, Edwin. Beautiful pearl gray sky. Have to say that cloning over the white poles and other small distractions allows for better concentration. Not the life preserver, though.

Inclement weather can indeed produce great images. For one, filtering bright sun is the key to successful photography any time between sunrise and sunset. In this image, the silhouettes of the palms are interesting. Your horizon is well placed and straight. It would be a great image without distractions at the base of the trees. It would be great if you could experiment again with some different angles to try to eliminate distractions. anne :-)

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
