Mildly frustrated as I was by my original submission handicapped by a seriously overexposed roof in the background, I decided to re-submit the photo with a new roof. This is a scene from Selby Gardens in Florida which I took because the only red leaves I get to see where I live are dead ones from maples. Oh yes, if you happen to think the roof back there looks kind of sweet, it should. It's pure fudge.

Edwin...

I liked yesterday's shot so much more. What were you thinking to change perfection? The eye is naturally drawn away from the red leaves to the fudge roof. I'm so very disappointed.

Roger

P.S. You know I'm kidding, right? Shows what a knucklehead I am. I would have spent hours changing the sky. Very good choice. This is far superior. What happened to "Red Leaves"? I just went back to check the two versions, and the original has been stolen. Don't worry I've already contacted the authorities and turned in a police report on the apparent theft.

To err is human. To forgive was never my strong suit.

What? Roger, you didn't notice I changed the sky too? Instead of leaving it white, I made it blue as you said it should be. I'm crushed. Here I am slaving for my critics by fabricating a blue sky and a light terracotta roof, adding colors until they're as much a riot of conflict as a crowd debating Obamacare, and it all goes unnoticed.

Of course we kid. It adds to the phun of photography. Btw the original wasn't stolen, it was vaporized. It's the only fate for failed art. And if version II doesn't pull in at least a 50 it may get vaporized too. :-)

Very nice image -Good composition with the red leaves in front. Some of the leaves on the treetops have turned blue. This happens often in sunshine. I normally correct that by marking around them with the lasso tool and desaturate the blue. It works as long as the marked area is not conspicuous.

If practice makes perfect and nobody is perfect, then why practice?
