This morning I donned my swimming trunks, grabbed my towel and walked over to the municipal pool to snorkel around. Unfortunately I found the pool closed due to lack of interest. I felt tempted to climb the barrier and jump in anyway but I got cold feet.

I just love this photo and your narrative, Ed. Once again I get the shivers when I see some of these shots. Words like freezing, stark and frigid come to mind. Of course, I'm not an Olympic caliber Scrabble player like you; so I'm typically monosyllabic. I'm very happy that I left the Midwestern U.S., but their -35°F wind chill is probably warm for you.

I'm looking at this photo and trying to figure out how it could be improved. I'm sure that Doug might have some compositional suggestions. The black and white suits the shot well.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

Definitely effective, but even more so with the surround cloned out.

Guess it's better to put on the ice skates instead of your swim suite...hehe..

Like the b/w and the angle :o)

This is a very nice capture of dark and light and very sharp too.I love how you captured the bright light in the ladders ever end of the pool.
