I couldn't find out what the conference back there was all about because these two guards would walk if I got too close. At the same time the conference would break and the whole crowd walk off to reassemble further away. One reason among others for taking the shot was that I liked the reflections of the birds in the wet sand. Alas, they looked so much more fascinating in real life, but this is still a reasonable facsimile.

This is a wonderful posting, Ed. Good, but not perfect, focus on the gulls. Very good balance and composition. Not too much sand, and not too much sky. The waves look excellent for some surfing. I like the waves crashing into the few rocks in the background. When the gulls are all pointing one direction like that, it typically means that the sun and wind are both coming from the bottom which in this case is easterly.

To me, maybe because I like your ocean shots, this is one of your better vacation postings. It will surely score in the low teens in the VB.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

What a lovely looking photography and great depth of field. The detail is lovely and sharp with great lighting in this shot too.Love how you captured all the birds facing the same way.

I think it's a really neat shot. It should be much sharper, considering they're standing still.
You can get a bit more sharpness in your editor, Ed. That and a touch of Contrast will also make it appear sharper.

I too like the reflections in the wet sand Edwin. I have found that a can of sardines will get them talking if you wonder what they are up to.

Good scene with the waves coming in.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.
