This is one more shot of my associate, Henry the Heron, who seemed so mesmerized by the sunset he didn't care how close I approached. I would have invited him to my place for supper but I already had chicken for lunch.
This one's a beauty, Ed. Great narrative as well. I like the colors, the clarity and the sharp focus. The composition looks really good to me, but I'll wait to hear what Doug says. Maybe a drop off the right? It looks like high tide with the waves lapping up onto the soft sand. I'm used to seeing the herons poking around at low tide. I'd give this a solid 7 in the VB.
Very good, Ed. Maybe a bit more contrast will improve silhouette effect, and would probably create the need for a bit more saturation if the water tends to appear lighter. How was the chicken?
Very well detailed photo with the appropriate focus on the bird but without compromising the background. Everything that is focused(Planned) well comes out well.
