Hope you enjoy! This is an experimental photo, taken by my more than 30 years old Nikkor 50mm/f2 lens attached on my Nikon D3000. I think this is worth to post here.

This was taken after sunset with very dim light. Because this lens has no electronics I had to use manual settings. 50mm, f5.6, 1/80, ISO 100, M Mode, Nikon D3000, Nikkor 50mm/f2, Handheld.

I'm not satisfied by using this lens. It is too lightweight, making handheld use too difficult. Though electronic 'focus aid' system works, with full aperture of f1:2 without autofocus it is very very difficult to focus.

PS: Sorry for a while I've been very busy and tired at work and couldn't comment and post. I don't know how long that will last.

Tanju

It's really great how you can take a simple subject and transform it into something extraordinary. This is just breathtaking !

---I had to use manual settings---

So, this is really old fashioned handwork, Tanju, but beautiful.
Nowadays they are not made any longer this way.
Can see at full screen size that it was very difficult to achieve a good focus indeed.
See however the slightly blur as a 'charming or romantic' touch.

Regards, Cornelius.

I think you have done a very good job here Tanju. In the dim light the rose has turned out beautifully. The colour is perfect and the shadows make it look very nice.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun

I notice that the edges of the flower are beginning to age and I think the fading light adds to the story of this rose beginning to fade. Lovely rich color

Well it seems the old lens did a fair enough job, but if it is that much trouble to use, I put it back in storage. Pretty roses look like they are in the moonlight.

Tanju - I think your lens experiment worked very well! The photo, with the darker lighting, does have a mysterious tone. Kudos! Thad
