I named this 'The Illusion' because of the way the angle of the bricks makes the frame look like an out of proportion rectangle. To me, the left side looks bigger than the right side. Maybe you see it, but if you don't, ignore the title. :) Hope you enjoy. Eli

I looked at it a few times, and I see what you mean. I'll drive myself nuts if I try to figure it out, though. Very interesting, and good shot.

I'd rather be here, than where I'm at!

Although it's real bricks with an offset in the wall that gives the effect, It looks like a bad wallpaper splice job. The splice being just right of the lamps light bulb.
It is an Illusion Eli.

It is pictures such as these that look like a contradiction. In this one you would expect the shaft of light to come from the lamp itself, so one looks at this with confusion as the brain is making sense of what it is seeing. The light obviously coming from another source! Brilliantly spotted and even more so for capturing this illusion! Well done!

Interesting Eli, I see it slightly differently. To me it appears that the upper left is warped or curved towards the viewer a bit. A nice post designed to highlight the differences in perception we all have and well done at that.
