ok... first of all, it's not too dark. especially because it doesn't have any black parts. I like more the effect which you used with the face on the right. I like those dark browns here. For my taste the image is balanced quite well but the backround is too symmetrical and should be a little off from the center. maybe a bit to the right. The red linethingi is great. gives some contrast to the image. on the other side the light orange parts are a little too harsh. As those faces give some nice detail on the right side you should have something similar with the left side (now talking about the backround). Even though you have different levels to look at you could have maybe added more depth/dimensional effect (for example by darkening some of the edges or adding some kind of borders) ....somehow the backround reminds me of two ears :P

I really like this picture... its dark but not too dark and it makes my imagination go crazy, although I think it would be better if those letters takk weren't so close to the center... I figure that is your signature on the art, but maybe if you put it closer to the corner it would be better. Anyway, nice work!
