Numerous coats of peeling paint tell a lot about an object. Makes you wonder how many folks have actually passed through that door. I really like this composition and it is one that makes me ponder. Nice work!
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I like this photograph for so many reasons. The detail is great and the slightly skewed angle make it much more fun to look at. Interesting colors and subject matter also go a long way with your image.
I have some odd vision issues so I get a little bit of a headache when looking in the center of the photo. However, I'm sure most people would not have that problem. For curiosity's sake did you try doing an infinite focus on this to see if you could still be reasonably close to the door, but still get some of the background intact? The problem there might be that you would have been farther back than you wanted from your subject matter. So, it might be a moot point.
Anywhositwhatsit, all of that is just rambling. I like the photo and I think you captured something very original.
This is a really interesting photograph - I like the 'tactile' perspective you've taken. That paint peeling on the door just makes me want to reach out and touch it with my fingertips. Very intriguing!
