interesting image, but two things are throwing me off. the first is the glare, and the second is the angle.. why does the bird appear to be parallell to the water?

lately, i've fallen horribly behind in my thanks and comments. I'll catch up, but until I do, please know all your kind words are greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I have to agree with third eye. Apparently, the shot was telephoto and downward toward the water, which accounts for the water's appearance. But, that looks like one angry gull! Judging from his feathers (not yet white), he may be a juvenile, so might be a rebellious teenager, glowering at the world.....

I wouldn't worry about the glare on the water, the effect makes a nice background. The gull is well in focus - I got this one in the voting booth and gave it a fairly high mark I have to say. well done! Patti
