Well you take first prize today, Frank. A wild and colorful looking foofy, and a wild and colorful looking bird, all in the same picture for Foofy Friday. Congratulations. I think it's Joanie's turn to award you with a box of cookies. LOL.

Love both bird and flower! Is that the flower in maturity, or just budding out? I think he rates a close-up study all on his own!

The flower is at maturity. It is actually a collection of small flowers. If you look closely you can see the nectar glistening on the flowers. That is what has attracted the lorrikeet.

Most lovely photo, and colours are awesome. I kind of wish that one piece of grass didn't cover the birdies eye...but that happens. Beautiful bird...and flower. Ya, I'd love to visit Aussie too, but doubt if I can...verena

Such an intricate and lovely flower, and the Lorikeet looks pretty intent on getting some of that nectar! I love all the vibrant colours and close up view of these beauties! I see a bit of grain in the image, perhaps from taking the shot from a long distance? But, could probably be taken care of in a photo editing program. Great work! Keep 'em coming :)
