Melk Abbey is an Austrian Benedictine abbey and one of the world's most famous monastic sites. It is located above the town of Melk on a rocky outcrop overlooking the river Danube in Lower Austria, adjoining the Wachau valley. it is full of atristic treasures, but I thought this simple hallway, in just one wing of the Abbey, was more typical of the monastic way of life.

Oh, like a hotel hall. LOL Nice shot. So clean, quiet, calm. But no thanks, not for me.

Nice shot, and I agree with Milka, it is like a hotel hall.

A really intruiging view Frank. I wouldn't dare walk on those polished floors; and what's going on in that room with the little red light above the door?

Excellent shot Ftank and the way that hall stretches it would be a good entry to the current "Infinity" contest.

Of course, we know that the fellow from "The Name of the Rose" was named .....[forgive my lack of concentration} of Melk. I guess he has been the companion to 007, his pupil and student.
What a lovely image and HOW SHINING THE FLOORS are !!!!
My Mom would love it and use it as an example of how a floor should look.
Lots of love,
