A heavily laden barge heads upstream through the Rhine Gorge. Note the skipper's car at the stern. The 3 triangles flash to notify upstream traffic when a vessel is heading down stream. Downstream traffic has right of way.
Although that load is flat, I can see that the trailer barge, in particular, is a little low in the water. If the car is in the stern, who is steering this thing through the gorge? I think anything else in the water had better give way to this behemoth! You find the most interesting stuff to photograph! Thanks.
Nice picture of the Dutch 'Wilhelmina II', Frank. When I saw your image, the LORELEI came in my mind. Miss however the 'junkfrau', combing her golden hair, lol.
