Butchers shops are in rapid decline in our cities due to the influence of supermarkets. They still survive in country towns. This one at Rutherglen is a good example and would have been trading from these premises for many years.
Well captured Frank - we've recently had a new butcher shop open in my area - the grandson of a family of German butchers who left the corporate world to go back to his roots. Maybe there's hope yet.
Nice shot of this old timer Frank, and good to see it still going strong. Typical old style with the verandah ! Many of the younger generation are lost at a 'real' butcher's shop these days - so used to seeing the meat tidily prepacked in plastic ! Those lamb shanks are a good price - they're about $14KG here - think thats nearly $13 in your money.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Lovely capture and it's sad that the specialist such as Butcher Shops are in decline. They service people with the best of meats and cuts, we still have a few here in our city
