The Karri tree "eucalyptus diversicolor" (karri), is one of the tallest hardwood trees in the world. It has been heavily logged since 1888.Some of the remaining stands are now protected in National Parks in the SE corner of Western Australia.

This reminds me of the bald cypress areas in the southern part of the state of Illinois where my husband is from. They like it a bit swampy - don't know if the eucalyptus prefer the same. I'm very allergic to eucalyptus so I don't get close enough to find out - excellent and very interesting image from your part of the world Frank.
