The Belsfield is a superb example of Victorian Italiante architecture, and is amongst the grandest Victorian Buildings on Lake Windermere. Built in 1845 as a private residence for the Baroness Von Sternberg, the house was acquired by the steel magnate Henry Schnieder in 1869 and converted to a hotel in 1892 and extended to provide additional bedrooms shortly before the First World War. it stands serenely above the tourists waiting to cruise Lake Windemere.

From the little girl's sun dresses and the beautiful hydrangeas, I guess this was taken in late spring. The grand hotel has quite a prominent setting. Lovely image. (I think I would have moved in closer to eliminate all the activity below and get a better view of the building.)

Think that spending a night there will cost a 'few pennies' (☺) , Frank. Probably only payable for the 'happy few'.
Very nice capture though. Well done.

That hotel is so grand looking, I really like the stark look of the color capture, and the fine details of the edging. tigs=^..^=
