I wonder why they decided to preserve the tree? But I do have to agree with Sandi about the overexposure on the tree. Shooting from dark into light can be a very tricky business as your camera "eye" is opened up to compensate for the shade it is in, much in the same way that you own eye does. Sometimes I try to be in the same light as the light part of the photo...and there are other tricks that can be learned and applied.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
i like the shot.. you've already heard about the exposure.. I also think a tad bit more contrast would let the colors "pop" a little more. Oh and I love how the leaves sort of frame the one side of the shot. Adds a nice hidden feel to be your subject.
AS Tigger said it's a bit overexposed which you can correct with free editing programs like Photoscape. Could you have tried shooting from another angle and maybe got a better shot?
thanks guys, for the feedback. i have photoshop, but so far have neglected to fix this one :? so i'll get on that and re-upload later. hilariously, this was one of about 30 shots of the same grave, and the best. my camera is old, unprofessional, and rather fickle, so apologies for some technical issues.
I like your idea behing this one and the title. It does seem somewhat overexposed though.
