Being bold here.. the B & W is interesting, however.. in editing/converting the colour image a lot of nice details (textures on the flower themselves, for example) are lost. And the colours (yellows, greens against that vibrant red backdrop) were quite nice and inviting.
Not sure what you have at your disposal, in terms of image editing software.
So.. here you go:
i) GIMP ... closely rivals that of Photoshop and Paintshop with respect to functionality/options. Freeware.
ii) PhotoFiltre 6.5.2 ... again, freeware. Used by a number of members on site here. Learning curve is not as steep, either.
There are others, such as Picasa (Google's own) and and..
And then, for your creative consideration ... the 'how to' stuff, with respect to converting a colour image to B & W.

:D
Ok, on a more serious note, in converting/editing ... had you been able to retain more of the finer details.. think (in my humble opinion, of course) the presentation could be upped.
Unless, the creative aim of yours was more of an abstract/minimalist representation of the original. In which case, mission accomplished.
And my words, thoughts contained here are simply some creative food for thought. :o)
