...today I was in Manchester City centre photographing some of the amazing new buildings that have been part of the regeneration of the centre since the IRA bomb exploded in this part of the city in 1996. The Urbis is at the centre of this new part of the city. The building is an exhibition centre featuring interactive exhibits and dynamic changing exhibitions. From this angle this building reminds me of a book! Maybe that was the intent?? Excellent & amazing variety of architecture in your area Patti! A good mix of both old & new! ~Dan'l

I agree that it does look like a book. I also like the reflections in the sides of the "book". Very good Patti.

Super looking building and a very nice shot of it. I didn't know that Manchester was bombed in 1996...who did it? The Japanese?

Beautifully composed urban image, Patti! The gradient blues used for framing are an excellent choice. As a rule, a centered image is a no-no, but I really like the way it works here with the building fanning out from either side. Well done!

What amazing architecture, Patti. You captured it brilliantly. It's so ultra-modern which is such a contrast to the building in back to the right there. I hope the new doesn't end up squeezing out the old. - Patty

Dynamic picture ... fitting for a building which represents the spirit of rebirth after a terrible, destructive event.
