...lol! well not quite what you were expecting and "no I am not!" before you ask! ...this is the view from the top of Shutlingsloe - the other side of the hill! ...and the metal disc in the rock is not giving directions to the pub, as you might have thought, it is a memorial and the words "In memory of Arthur Smith, a doughty fighter for footpaths and access to mountains. Erected by the Peak and Northern Footpaths Society and the Ramblers Assocn." are inscribed upon the disc. To the left of the disc there is an etching in the stone, which looked like THR June 15 1897. The next photograph will give you directions to the pub.

Where's Bob? And you aren't anywhere near over the hill as long as you keep taking shots like this.

Patti - the view is awesome! Great composition and I love the shadow over most of the scene, yet light in the foreground. Are those tiny little specs sheep grazing? Very well done ... ya nice, nice, now where's the pub?? :))o

Another great view Patti! I'm curious too of the white spots? I was thinking maybe they were sheep too? So..did you leave your initials there too?? I thought I saw "Fogz" etched in the rock there?? LOL Ok..on to the pub!

A very nice shot. Fooled me...I thought it was a Frisbee stuck in the rock. That would have been quite a toss. Nice work.

It looks as though this may be pretty high up in the hills Patti. Really interesting history and the sign dating back to the 1800s- Wow- to be able to see and touch something that old. Pretty countryside with the casting shadows too.
