.....the illuminated Salzburg Fortress sitting majestically above the city like a 'castle in the air' ...and it has been there since the year 1077!! incredible!
One of your best in the series sofar !
The view and capture is just outstanding, and worth a 10/10 in the voting booth. Last week, i have shot some night shots myself, and have seen how difficult it can be. On one of your previous postings of Salzburg you told me that you did not have a tripod with you on this trip, and that makes this image all the more outstanding, just perfect Patti.
Oh...I thought it was castle in your hair....never mind. Kidding...really very nice. I agree one of your best. Just loverly...even for a girl...who is jealous of us guys cuz we invented the camera and know which buttons really work and what doesn't.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

ok Jerry! thanks for the compliment! I think! hmmm!
and Hans thanks again for being the gentleman you are, not like the mandroid in the green suit! lol! I did take a very small travel tripod, but mostly I used the very sturdy bridges and walls around the river to balance my camera on. :)

I do that too, Patti 'cause I've got a big tripod, but if I'm trying to take anything that may move or adjust light quickly, I'm outta luck, cause it takes so darned long to set the thing up the way I want it. I need to invest in a smaller one that can be set up more quickly. Your shot is magical and of course that old castle has probably been amazing people for a very long time. :)PJ
Yes, i also use all availible objects to shoot images in bad light situations.
For instance, right now, i am posting the railroad museum series.
In most museums here in Holland you are not allowed to use a tripod, as it is in this museum, so i use the bumpers of the trains, stairsteps you name it. But it works.
I also use a mini tripod for my low light shots and it works very good as you might know :o)
nevertheless this one is really outstanding, and not just for a girl !!! :o))
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to repose. Trust me on this one, I live there ............The Lion...................... MY GALLERY - The Magical Mystery Tour

Very neat Patti! It almost appears you were shooting this from a boat from your angle. I love the looks of the waterfront in this city also! I agree with the rest.. I need to get one of those mini tripods too! Superb job Patti..as always! C):-)
