.....the left foot of the colossal statue of the Emperor Constantine, which once stood outside his basilica in the Roman Forum. The Capitoline Museum in Rome houses the broken parts of the statue, including his head (with eyes looking heavenward), part of an arm, and a hand with index finger pointing up. ...I was hoping to find this part statue too, which was posted recently by my friend Kostas here. thanks to Kostas and Paul, whose photographs inspired me to make the visit myself!

I won't try to say anything clever. I wouldn't want to end up with foot in mouth. I think it's great that you looked up this up after you said you would. You did good. Now where's the right foot?

Your title threw me way off base Patti- I was expecting to see 2 lambs frolicking in a field for some reason LOL. So glad they have found another way to exhibit these massive parts of Constatine. Nicely done.

I remember this. The picture can be quite decieving about the dimensions of the foot until you stand somone beside it. It is hugh.

A suitably ignominious end to the arrogance of this emperor! And a great photo of an unusual subject.
