....... a little cottage hidden down a lane in Castleton Derbyshire. I have tried adding the Orton effect a little but trying not to overdo it. The path at the side leads to one of the many unground caverns - Peak Cavern, which also has another(unmentionable) name which you will discover if you click on the link lol! I didn't venture any further as I am not so keen on being underground, but you can read information about the Cavern in the link above. You can see how the land rises sharply behind the cottage, which is mainly rockface.

What an interesting house. Stacco on the sides, but what caught my eye is the varying sizes of stone bricks on the front. The stones seem larger along the bottom and slightly above the first floor windows and then become smaller for the second floor. Yet another wonderful English countryside photo by you Patti.

Great work with the orton effects, Not overdone at all. Reminds me of a Thomas Kinkade Painting somewhat. makes a great desktop. Dylan and I went to a place called Howe Caverns recently here in upstate N.Y. very difficult lighting conditions in caverns tough to photograph wound up with a bunch of junk photos that day.

I've looked at this a few times Fogz so am surprised to see I haven't commented. There's a strong composition here and I like the sense of the cottage being 'tucked away.' The smoke coming from the chimney is lovely too, it speaks of life going on inside. I think the Orton worked, it added just a little bit of a 3d effect which is what I really like it for.
