Now you can see the height of the dam ....only another 60+ steps to go! lol! The shallow water that runs along the base of this wall looked almost black from above. The Derwent dam was built in the early 1900s and was made famous in 1943 when the RAF 617 Squadron used the dams to practise their famous Dambuster raid against the Ruhr dams in Germany. The movie "The Dambusters" was also filmed here.

An interesting image Patti showing the dam from an unusual angle. I love the film "The Dam Busters", but it is the film with the worst special effects ever made.

I didn't even notice the people until WC spotted them. Great angle and coloring. Are you using a new editing technique? It looks good.

Very good view of the dam,nice angle,the clarity is very good,very nice forest in the background,the dam is big enough as a bunch of people can be seen and they are small compared to the dam,the photo is very lovely.
