.....I was out again in Derbyshire yesterday and took many photographs of the amazing views over the Derbyshire countryside ....However, no view here (the views are behind me) - this photograph just caught my eye because I liked the lines and cloud formations and what appears to be a lonely figure on the horizon ......but he is not so lonely - it is my friend checking out what is over the brow of the hill to save me climbing up there! lol! ...and he is carrying my tripod! well ...what are friends for ;)

Very nice control of the lighting, avoiding the glare the dusty road might have given the image. Well done.

Not to be confused with the long and winding road, huh? Just look at that gorgeous sky. The clouds are perfect, and no hint of noise. Just beautiful. You should have a golf cart to ride around on during your outings. But then, it might not make it over a lot of the terrain you have over there. Scratch that idea. LOL. Very nice picture...the sky alone is worth the posting.

I am like you Fogz. I see a sky this beautiful, I want to get a photo. You picked a great subject for your photo. It also makes me want to see what is just beyond the rise.

Good post.

A perfect vantage point for that sky! I love the streaks of clouds seemingly perfectly placed to accent the road and puffy ones. Thank you for sharing it!

Although your image is perfect, watching to this long, dusty, and sandy road is sufficient to make me tired, Patti. Glad I can watch this wonderful scene from a lazy chair in front of my screen lol. Very good post!

It reminds me of the old dirt road I use to travel everyday after school to get home. Great capture and the lone figure adds even more volume to this. Great job.

I can see why this caught your eye Patti. The imbalance created by the tree, and the dramatic shadown it produces. The contrast between the greens and blues and the earth colours; and the lines in the road. The figure on the horizon is nice too, I see some similarities in that respect between this and your last post ;-)
