I just had to stop and take a photo of this chimney out in the middle of this field that was once part of someones home. It was just standing there as a reminder that life once inhabited this place that is now overgrown with weeds and grasses.I do hope you enjoy and I'd like to thank all of you that view and comment.Have a great week-end everyone!

Overgrown is putting it mildly..hehehe. very cool how you can see where the roof line used to be...or is.. Maybe the house belongs to aliens and it's invisible cuz they don't want visitors..?=D great image Eileen. good color and composition. You and yours have a good weekend also..

Neat capture Eileen! It looks so unusual out there all by itself! Hmmmm..maybe if I get tired of winter I'll come down & build a home around it..I already have the fireplace! LOL Good eye on this Eileen!

A very neat capture Eileen ... to see this chimney still standing by itself makes me wonder what happened to the house itself & the people that lived there. The chimney looks very old & comparing it to the two in my house ... I would guess very early 1900's or perhaps late 1890's. The clarity & detail are excellent. Thank you so much for sharing this find ... very nicely done.

A nice pic...would have been nice if they would have built a house around it.

Amazing capture! I guess the chimney was made of the strongest materials. Does look rather odd amongst all the weeds.

Makes ya wonder what use to be here, doesn't it? Probably a large home with kids and fields to farm-now, all gone. Good post.

Great picture to ponder about Eileen. It's a reminder that human creations are just fleeting glances in the grand scheme of things. A great find and well photographed.

You have wonderful insight into life around you, Eileen! Most people would just ignore things like that, or even call them unsightly! Your picture captures continuity of life - wildflowers now rule around that symbol of long gone human life!

I just love images like this. Makes me wonder what the house was like ... who lived there, and what happened to them and the house. There is always a sense of mystery about this kind of scene. Thans for posting it.

A very nice contrast photo .... in the middle of nature is this manmade chimney. Almost looks like it grew there, or that maybe there never was a home - though I doubt that! Wonderful find/shooting Eileen!
