With my camera set on the largest picture size and a silent prayer in each step closer , I was able to get a photo of this little bird resting in my back yard this morning. I wish you could have seen the smile on my face when I saw this for the first time. I hope it brings a smile to yours as well. Thanks everyone for your time viewing and commenting if you wish.

Picture Purrrfect . Some people are like slinky's, completely useless but still a lot of fun when you push them down the stairs. 8~O

I wish I could have seen it too! I'll bet it was ear to ear! Excellent shot Eileen! A cute little birdie and he must not have been intimidated by you at all. He knew you meant him no harm. Or maybe he's just a ham for the camera! LOL Great clarity..you can make out every tuft of feathers on him! You can be proud of this shot my friend! C):-)

It's a charming picture of an adorable bird. Great job! Nicely blurred background so it doesn't distract, but adds to the warm color palette.

But as a wildlife rehabber, I'm worried about this little bird. Besides having his feathers all ruffled up for warmth, which is normal this time of year, he just doesn't look right. He looks kind of lethargic, and his eye doesn't shine...But that could be the camera angle.

Did he fly away afterward, I wonder?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

To quell Anastasias' concerns- this was taken very early this morning while the woods behind my house were still quite dark. No flash occured when I shot this which could explain why there is no shine in the eyes and yes, it did fly away as I attempted to get closer to it. I hope this will relieve any concerns for its well being.
