It has been so long since we've had a decent amount of rain. This is what the river near my house looked like this morning. This landing is usually full of people ready for a day of fishing but not a soul was here this morning. It was kind of an eerie feeling being here alone but very pretty with the mist on the water and the way the sun was casting reflections here. Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

This is actually very nice, I do enjoy the reflective aspects and as you say that mist really adds to this. A stand out photo...very well done.

Eileen, what a wonderfully atmospheric shot! The silence is almost palpable - not a fish nor a bird stirring. Looks equally great with the left-third of the image cropped right up to the central supports. Excellent!

Very pretty Ms. Foofoo!! It must seem odd not to have anyone around with the low water levels! Hope you get rain soon! With hurricane season coming lets hope not TOO much! C):-)

a very moody shot Eileen! love it! ....and just look at the contrast between this shot and the last one I posted of the Thames - crazy weather! It is raining here again today and was yesterday! ...and this is Summer? lol!

What nice lighting on this. I like the look of the scene, a place not everyone would get to enjoy. Mostly only the fishermen and the photographers. lol

I've missed so much of late ... but was glad I came upon this one. Very impressive use of shadow and light. The mist beyond the overpass is certainly a plus in my book. It's a somber reminder of just how critical the drought has become in so many parts of the country ... particularly the southern half. We take this most precious resource for granted, but as the populace increases with ever increasing demands ... more of these "eerie" sights may well lie ahead. I pray not ... may the drought break soon for those that need the water.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.
