As I stood here taking this photo so many childhood memories came to mind of my sister and I running and playing on this dirt road as my Grandfather was inside buying supplies for the farm or gassing up his old truck. I could still picture him coming out of the store with 2 Push-Up ice creams in hand for us to enjoy on the way home. Thanks so much to all of you that have shared this special memory with me and I hope you've enjoyed viewing these two grand old buildings as they stand today. Hope this brings back some fond memories of your own.

The image itself is presented as a memory and not so much as a reality view..that's not said with malice, but with an appreciation for your whole upload, pic and narrative included. Lovely job. Thanks for the memory! :)

Great capture, and commentary. This is a very nostalgic looking image, like something out of a Norman Roxkwell painting. I have only one question ....
What's a "Push-up ice cream"? :)

Wow. I'll bet these building look pretty much as they did back then. I can imagine what you were feeling as you stood here and took that shot. Everything comes and goes, but we still keep the memories forever. Thanks for sharing this story Eileen.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very touching story and darn good photo, you are lucky to still have these "memories" around you. Most of the places I loved to go to when I was little have been torn down.
