I took this photo in the Adirondacks, and I just love how the light seems to mingle with the ground. It almost looks misty, but it was a very clear day and so everything "misty" that you see is really light. It reminds me that the balance between reality and the dreamworld are sometimes closer than we know.

I received a comment request on your shot. I like the subject matter. I've tried this on occasions and have never been as successful as I would have liked. It's very difficult pull off. My suggestions for this shot is to use your favorite post processing program (Photoshop, GIMP, or ???) and use the "Levels" tool to correct the color balance. If you're just starting out Levels is a good tool and once you feel like you're beginning to understand color balance you could move to "Curves". You may even get acceptable results if you allow the Levels to automatically set the color balance. You could also try to up the green just a bit to help bring out the needles in the trees and the ground. The clone tool could be used to fill in the areas of the trees that are overlapped by the bright light in the background. Good luck and I hope to see more of your posts.
