Lovely tree, lovely burn ("crick" in my lingo :>>). I love the old stone building to the right, but I think the house on the background left is a bit distracting. From the thumbnail, I thought the roof of the stone building would be distracting, but upon enlargement and when I really looked at the pic, I noticed the roof color repeated in the water, in the sky, and in the distant mountains. Now I see that you have a nice color composition, but I'd still think about cloning out the distant white buildilng. Beautiful, evocative pic of a place and a way of life that many of us have never experienced.
Thats an impressive tree in an impressive location. I agree with Sharon with regards to the roof in the background. It almost looks like there is a satellite dish to the right of that roof but it is very difficult to tell. It almost looks like the image was slightly smudged, though I can't really be sure about that either (could just be the compression)! Out of personal preference, I would have decreased the aperture a bit, or even decreased the exposure time, just to give the foliage colour a bit more depth and reduce the contrast (specifically between the white clouds and the leaves on the tree.
I am envious of your Grandmother for living in such a great place!
Thanks for sharing!
I love this. So quiet and pastoral looking. Sometimes I yearn for places like this. Great composition, love the tree. I do agree, though, that the foliage colour needs just a little more depth.
