Gael,
When looking at your image, I see some motion ( or poor focusing ) as well as 2 partial ducks! The color of the main duck is good but it would be better if it were off=centered in the image, focused sharply and there were no other distractions. The other critters that are cut off cause the viewers eye to wander and to miss the main focal point. They could have been eliminated by cropping in a post-editing program.
Your background for viewing the white duck is excellent.
I am going to presume this is digital and it is fun to shoot more than one picture of the same thing, composed differently and see which looks best when downloaded onto the computer!
I look forward to seeing more post's of yours and thank you for sharing this with us ;=)
Nice attempt to place it in a third, but it would have better balance to frame the shot with him looking into the area to the left. This would also simplify the scene by eliminating at least one of the partial ducks on the photo's edges.
A supported camera or higher shutter speed would help to minimize the detected image motion.
The light play on the waves provided an excellent background. Very good contrast to emphasize the subject.
