I think the idea is good. The problem for me is the subject matter. One tree would be great. Here you have several overlapping that makes the center a little busy.

i like the symmetry of the tree, but as was said above it is a bit busy. great idea, it just didn't work here. the idea makes this picture strong and well worth viewing.
